Commissioned On-Premise Sales Consultant

The ideal candidate will possess sales or restaurant experience as well as basic wine knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Make on-premise account calls in a professional, consistent and timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships within designated territory to ensure Service Distributing’s long term goals and objectives are achieved
  • Responsible for development of efficient daily route with monthly planning and mid-month adjustments
  • Conduct staff training seminars, wine dinners and tastings
  • Survey and maintain account database for brand usage, promotional opportunities, etc.
  • Maintain weekly reporting which requires, itinerary, new item presentations, pertinent customer and competitive information
  • Maintain vehicle in a professional, efficient manner to assist in overall job performance

Qualifications

  • College degree (preferred)
  • Two or more years’ experience in related field or sales (preferred)
  • Computer competency and proficient in Microsoft Office (required)
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills (required)
  • Must have valid drivers license

Merchandising/Sales

Individuals should have a proven track record in creatively selling a company’s portfolio and managing customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain product displays in compliance with company and customer standards
  • Rotate and stock accounts
  • Face shelves and straightening packages in accounts
  • Complete daily paperwork related to merchandising work
  • Maintain appropriate product levels in beverage sections and throughout accounts including shelf allocation and cold equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized back-room in assigned accounts
  • Meet customer service expectations through daily communication, problem resolution, and appropriate follow up
  • Maintain professional, team relationship with co-workers and customers
  • Transport, replace and maintain Point of Sale advertising as appropriate for account

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College degree (preferred)
  • Must be able to use a personal vehicle during business hours
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Prior grocery store and/or consumer products/retail experience preferred
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Valid driver's licenses, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within company policy guidelines
  • Must have the ability to repetitively lift 30+ pounds
  • 21+ years of age

Warehouse Worker

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • Write simple correspondence in English
  • Accurately, consistently and safely follow directions; involved in receiving, stock rotation, or shipping of cases or bottles of wines and beer in various locations throughout the warehouse and/or in loading or unloading of trucks
  • Operate various pieces of warehouse equipment (Cherry Pickers, Forklifts, Slipsheets, Clamp Pickers, Electric Floorjacks) etc.
  • Accurately identify and receive cases of product into inventory locations, using various pieces of warehouse equipment
  • Accurately pick, pack, palletize orders
  • Hand stack cases/bottles of product in a specific sequence and location on a delivery truck
  • Remove cases/bottles of product from delivery trucks
  • Return undelivered cases/bottles to their proper inventory locations
  • Move and stack cases/bottles for the purpose of conducting physical inventory
  • Perform the cleaning and maintenance duties as may be directed by the warehouse supervisor
  • Observe safe product handling techniques
  • Cooperate with supervisors and peers alike
  • Punctually and consistently arrive for work and various other duties, as assigned

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Delivery Driver

Individuals will drive a truck over an established route to deliver products and collect money from customers.

Responsibilities

  • Properly conduct a pre and post trip inspection, noting any vehicle defects
  • Abide by the DOT hours of service rules and regulations for license type
  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle from company warehouse to customer premises and back
  • Accurately deliver invoiced products by bottle, case, pallet or hand-stack from the delivery truck and place said merchandise into customer account in designated areas such as coolers or shelves
  • Verify receipt of correct order with the customer by checking product type and size against provided invoice
  • Obtain customer signature and payment if necessary for goods received
  • Adjust invoices to note errors or shortages of product and return extra product to the warehouse
  • Ensure physical security of truck at all times
  • Handle approximately 450 cases in a given day (up to 700 cases during times of increased account activity)
  • May deliver to up to 30+ accounts during times of increased account activity
  • Provide feedback to transportation management in terms of route changes or route concerns
  • Possess a current state driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements
  • Ability to obtain valid DOT medical certification card and file appropriately with state Motor Vehicle Department
  • Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle, delivery trucks; pallet jacks, handcarts, global positioning system receivers, location based messaging service platforms and portable data input terminals

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift and /or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, climb or balance.
